1. A Pile of Pillows
Nothing beats seeing a bed full of pillows. They are fluffy and soft and oh so heavenly, you’d get the feeling of being on cloud nine! If you like a variety of colorful pillows on your bed, then don’t shy away by combining lots of colors and patterns. Pillows are cheap, add color and create a beautiful environment in your bedroom. You can even mix patterns varying from floral to geometric patterns to stripes and so on. Related Article on HomeDecor.Guide: Decorative Throw & Accent Pillows
One of the newest trending home decor ideas for inside the bedroom is hanging bedside lighting (more lighting options see #8 Lighting Con’td below). There is such an awesome array of hanging lighting options that your mind (and wallet) can literally go wild. I love hanging lighting for a variety of reasons. They are purposeful, they look ultra modern, it’s simple and I feel like I can change them more often (ie. not having bulky light shades that I need to dispose of which stresses me out). Hanging your lighting is also especially handy if you have a small bedroom and want to save space whilst not compromising design. This avoids the hassle and stress of having to fit side tables next to your bed. However, you don’t need to rule that out completing, you can just opt for smaller, simpler bedside tables than you imagine. Additionally, if you do require a small space only to place your essentials, instead of buying bulking side and end tables, you can invest in smart shelving (which you can read more down below…. ) Alternatively, if you don’t have a small bedroom, a simple decorating idea is to invest in beautiful light shades with matching end tables. Just make sure that if your side tables are fancy, your bedding is more subtle in order for them not to clash.
3. Blank Wall No More
Does a particular wall on your bedroom look bare and dull? If you could not think of anything to put on that blank space, then grab a few linens with unique designs and patterns and plaster them on the wall. You don’t need to spend a lot on artwork anymore…Sayings and quotes, printed and framed is all you need. You may also mix colors but it is suggested that you follow a specific motif which will match your linens, pillowcases and curtains. Additionally, a feature mirror will never disappoint. Not only a hanging mirror which can be traditionally placed either over your bedhead or on your vanity or desk, don’t forget about a larger floor mirror also!
4. Minor Pieces
Minor inclusions such as Bedroom Poufs and adding greenery such as Indoor Plant & Trees provide that empty space with fulfillment. It’s a matter of common sense actually. Fill in the empty awkward space with something small and simple. Just don’t go overboard here, your bedroom doesn’t need everything in it to look good. Keep it simple and purposeful. And again, you have a bedroom that is slightly smaller, you might consider choosing just one small one to make it as a centerpiece or focus of the room.
5. Add Extra Seating
There is different furniture ideas to add the next level of decor to your bedroom. The latest in furniture that add that extra decoration to your bedroom aswell as extra seating includes trunks or ottomans on the end of your bed, comfy arm chairs or alternatively a new trend of hanging chairs in the bedroom. Choosing your furniture to tailor-fit the overall appearance of your bedroom is crucial. All these ideas serve as a highlight of your bedroom. These can prove as centerpieces that just completely finish off your bedroom decor, plus provide you somewhere to it also.
6. Accents as Assets
Be bold and vibrant! Express yourself by mixing colors that define your personality and mood. After all, every bedroom has to be personalized and customized according to your preferences. Add some textures and tones to create a “layer” that would make your bedroom appear chromatic. Colorful layers include using rugs (which you can layer also), accent pillows (as we have discussed above), bedding or throw rugs over your bedding. Use these accents as assets.
7. Creative Shelving
As mentioned above, another home decor idea trending for bedroom decoration are creative ways to incorporate shelving into your bedroom. These shelving ideas not only provide depth and character to your bedroom, but they provide great ways to display your personal items and prove as excellent additional storage space. Popular shelving ideas include Floating Shelves (which you can read more about here) and ladder shelving.
8. Lighting Cont’d
As I mentioned above, hanging lighting is one of the newest trending home decor ideas for inside your bedroom. Another lighting idea is hanging lighting around your bedroom. I have separated this out as this is more of a ‘decorating’ accent rather than an essential in beside lighting as above.
